Co-directed by Amy C. Elliott and Elizabeth Donius, World’s Largest takes a tour of small town America and the over-sized, roadside attractions hoping to draw in the tourist dollar as a replacement for dwindling local industries. I caught up with Amy and Elizabeth at SXSW to discuss these monolithic signifiers of a dying part of American life.
There have been seismic changes in a lot of the industries that these towns were built on and had sustained them. Not living in one…I didn’t really know them by watching my main street dry up.

MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the latest incarnation of this disorder and so much cheaper than film school. Twitter: @MarBelle
