Whilst trying to squeeze in as many films as possible at the recent Filmstock festival, I managed to tear myself away from the screen and grab a few words with filmmaker Craig Rook, whose film What a Freegan Waste was screening as part of the Short Docs session.
The film takes an in-depth look at the Freegan lifestyle in both the US and UK and investigates how the individuals involved with this movement are taking matters in to their own hands, to help the fight against environmental destruction. I asked Craig about his shooting methods, the differences with filming in the US & UK and why he chose the Freegans as his subject.
