The Lights And Then The Noise

After joining them on a musical road trip to Elsewhere and having the pleasure of their company on the podcast, I’ve been looking forward to seeing what new delights directing duo Mathy & Fran might next have in store. Well, my wait is finally over with the online release of their sci-fi music short The Lights and Then the Noise hot on the heels of its Encounters screening last week.

Drawing on a variety of inspirations (Robert Adams’ Summer Nights, Jem Cohen and the Twilight Zone) The Lights… was shot in London over two days in and around a show by Californian punk band No Age, who give Emily Taaffe’s night wandering heroine an experience she can hold on to forever.
