Everything we come into contact with ever day was at some point along its journey designed, which gives designers as a whole a vast amount of hidden power over our lives and as we all know, with great power comes great responsibility. This may seem a straight forward consideration for established designers, but what about the new designer only just beginning to build a career for themselves? Is it even feasible to place concerns about being a good citizen ahead of that all too elusive commission which means the difference between making rent or not?
With this in mind Singaporean designer David Goh launched Ethics for the Starving Designer; “A social project to promote ethics in graphic design and advertising.”
