Cam Be is perhaps overselling matters a tad by titling this The Legendary: A Film About The Roots; comprising as it does mostly concert footage of the hip hop band during the Hennessy Artistry Tour, peppered here and there with surface commentary and interview snippets, (including some words from the drumming master ?uestlove himself) it is at best a passing glance into the world of these extraordinary musicians and a reminder that someone NEEDS to produce a feature length, comprehensive film about The Roots. However, even a little Roots is a treasure to behold so hopefully Cam Be has given the nudge that will get the ball rolling.

MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the latest incarnation of this disorder and so much cheaper than film school. Twitter: @MarBelle
