Never ones to shy away from challenging subject matter, Sarah Harris’ documentary Prostitutes of God will hit VBS on Monday.
Harris traveled deep into the villages and cities of Southern India, where she discovered the still practiced tradition of families selling their daughters into sex slavery as Devadasi or ‘Servant’s of God’, an ancient local practice justified in the name of religion where parents become pimps.
MarBelle has a strange compulsion to watch as many films as he can get his hands on and find jobs that give him a legitimate excuse to drill filmmakers about their work. Directors Notes is the latest incarnation of this disorder and so much cheaper than film school. Twitter: @MarBelle
