Waiting for the End of the World

Deprived of human contact, and with only an overactive imagination to keep him company, Petr sets about his monotonous night shift at his local supermarket.

Shot on a Canon 5D mk II, with 135mm and 17-40mm lenses and edited on Final Cut Pro, Lee Deaville’s short Waiting for the End of the World, is a prime example of what you can do with easily accessible, reasonably affordable equipment. Lee has provided us with a simple story, that perfectly exemplifies the mundanity that life can sometimes throw at us. It’s to his credit though, that instead of his film mirroring its subjects banality, it instead manages to be full of anticipation and atmosphere.
