Films such as the Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker are gruelling, brutal and detailed looks at life on the frontline of modern warfare in the Far East, but they aren’t reality.
Filmmaker for The Guardian, Sean Smith’s short documentary Endgame In Afghanistan, is closer to reality. He spent five weeks in Afghanistan documenting and reporting and the result is available to watch on the Guardian website. It’s searing stuff.
