I actually watched LTROI again the other night and your right, not a shot wasted! In fact my only criticism of the film would be the dodgy CGI cats, but lets face it, they're probably no worse than the dodgy CGI wolves in The Day After Tomorrow, a film with over 30 times its budget. Although, I have to admit I'm very worried for the imaginatively titled American remake, Let Me In, which I'm almost certain will be a pointless exercise in filmmaking.

I'm just happy we finally got a couple of decent vampire films after a many years of disappointment and lets just hope that's not it for the next 10 years or so.

They're both fantastic. Let the Right One In is just the most mind-blowingly touching, compelling and stunningly acted film I've seen in a really long time. Watch it again though and look at how he stages his camera moves, how nothing is wasted and how technical the mise-en-scene actually is. I think it actually compares with Thirst in terms of technique, and that, as you rightly point out, is a high accolade indeed.

Two great movies and yet more examples of foreign films putting our best efforts in the shade. We'll fight back though, and soon! 'Moon' anyone?
