Lovers (2008)
Lovers begins as a young photographer, Jeremy arrives in Shanghai, China on the night of his first solo exhibition in the city. Elsewhere on that same Winter’s night, a young woman, Qiu quickly and silently snaps photos of a random couple while stalking closely behind them, where she is eventually led into a small street corner art gallery. As Qiu follows the couple inside that gallery, her life will pause for a moment…and in that moment, Jeremy will see her: And she will see him. And as their eyes lock upon each other they will fall in love for the second time…
Lovers asks the question: what would you do if you had a chance to heal the wounds of a loved one you hurt deeply? Would the emotional baggage and pain of past mistakes be too much to overcome?
Set against the beautiful, glowing backdrop of modern Shanghai, Lovers deals with the subjects of love both lost and found, and the fragility of a second chance.
